EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineer and/or five to ten years related experience, required.

EXPERIENCE: Five to ten years related experience is required.  An engineering degree is desired, but a degree in another related field is acceptable.  More important is good mechanical aptitude, common sense, and above average telephone communication skills.  Organizational and follow up skills a must.  Above else, a strong customer service attitude and willingness to go above and beyond is an absolute necessity.


Ability to communicate in both oral and written form, ability to see and hear other personnel and/or objects, ability to travel within and outside the facility, capability of using a multiline telephone system and a computer keyboard.  The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting. Activities include extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer or other device.


Within the facility, normal office conditions with a well-lighted work area and excellent ventilation.  Moderate noise from office equipment (copiers, printers, etc.) and minor distraction from conversation (telephone and general office).


Discflo Corporation’s Sales Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Sales Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Sales Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.


  1. Develop and maintain professional relationships with both engineers and end users.
  2. Quotation, bid document, and product submittal preparation.
  1. Maintain expert level of product knowledge and application.
  2. Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs
  1. Maintain accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases
  2. Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the company mission, values, and financial objectives.
  3. Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.
  4. Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  5. Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
  6. Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  7. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  8. Identifies and documents customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual clients, sales reps, OEMs and distributors.
  9. Documents interaction with customers
  10. Responds to sales questions in a credible and responsive manner.
  11. Assumes the primary technical relationship with customer.
  12. Supports distributors, sales representatives and sales department in implementing target market programs and closing new business.


  1. Preferred inside or territory sales experience selling mechanical equipment, instrumentation, or related process equipment.
  2. Customer driven backed with a strong work ethic.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to prioritize and multi-task daily.
  5. Able to read mechanical schematics/drawings and specifications.
  6. Strong attention to detail while maintaining consistent workflow.
  7. Prior experience with pumps and systems strongly preferred.
